VP/XR Studio LED Screen Successfully Tested... Dexter Studio and Impactrum "Strengthen Overseas Competitiveness in Virtual Production with Domestic LED Panels"
Successful testing of Korean-made VP-XR LED Wall with LED screen specialist Impactum, and agreement to develop VP-XR hardware and supply screens to US company V, marking the first sign of overseas expansion.

Dexter Studio (206560), a company specializing in visual special effects (VFX) and video content production, conducted a test of Korean-made LED screens to strengthen its competitiveness in virtual production overseas with impactrum (206560), an LED screen company with production facilities in Korea, and found remarkable results.

Dexter (CEO Kim Wook, Jong Ik Kang) signed a 'VP-XR LED Wall Development Business Agreement' with Impactrum (CEO Lee Peter) to strengthen overseas competitiveness and business capabilities in virtual production technology, and conducted two rounds of product testing for VP and XR. Through this, we are developing VP (Virtual Production) hardware technology including ICVFX (in-camera visual effects) and XR (extended reality), and securing technological advantages in line with the environment where the VP-XR market is expected to expand for overseas market entry and domestic dissemination.

COLOR TEST: Checks the proximity of the RGB Color represented by the LED to the Target Point

VP products apply LenzTHRU™ Technology to develop camera-specific LED panels that reflect the stark differences between the human eye and camera lenses, resulting in high brightness of over 3,000 nits. The GX (XR class), which was tested in the second round of testing, is an excellent product for movie and drama shooting at an affordable price. The test base used the Brompton / Novastar process, and ARRI and RED cameras, which specialize in film and drama, were used as standard. Compared to existing Chinese LED products, the color rendition is overwhelmingly superior, and LED color rendition is possible regardless of the Brompton or Novastar processor model. In addition, due to the nature of LEDs, it is more difficult to produce an accurate 'blue' value than other colors, but the GX was able to match the ideal 'Blue target' value.

LEDs for virtual production must simultaneously consider processor, camera, modifications, scanlines, viewing angles, frame rates, and more in relation to around 20 different test items. Because all of Impact's components are customizable, it was easy to optimize these specifications through testing with Dexter, making it suitable for use in film, television, and commercials. Dexter tested dozens of Chinese-made panels for its Paju D1 studio, and emphasized that the GX developed by Impactram is the best LED panel available.

Starting in 2022, Impactrum received a request from V, a company with five professional virtual studios in the U.S., to supply LED panels, and held a studio meeting in Las Vegas in July. After completing the Dexter test, we delivered the GX product to the Orlando studio in early December, and if the U.S. test passes, we will use high-specification Korean-made ImpactRoom LED panels to build 10 studios in the U.S. with a total budget of 180 billion won from 2023. It will also have a structure in place to spread the panels through Impact and Dexter's international network.

Dexter Studio is an all-in-one comprehensive content company that is responsible for all aspects of content planning, shooting, production, and post-production, and recently successfully completed the filming of director Kim Yong-hwa's new movie "The Moon" at its own D1 Studio. The company is currently working on the dramatization of the classic comic book "Hairdresser" and the webtoon "The Emperor's Only Daughter" with its content production affiliate Dexter Pictures, and will apply virtual production technology to both works using the D1 studio facilities. In addition, Realize Pictures, which recently signed an MOU with Dougrim Entertainment, a company founded by famous webtoonist Park Tae-joon, to co-produce the drama "Cheaters," and Realize Pictures, which has strengthened its relationship with the movie "Together with God," has announced the production of a drama with God, so expectations are rising for the further application of virtual production technology.

Impactrum, a screen specialist, produces LCD-LED screens only in Korea based on its 11,000 square meter production facility in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do. With a high level of technical security and inspection capabilities overseas, the company is highly recognized for its quality and reliability in overseas markets. Impactrum, which started its Korean operations in earnest in 2022, has been providing B2B LEDs to companies such as J Company since its establishment in the U.S. in 18, but will diversify its sales network from 23. It is developing a total LED/LCD hybrid business that provides LED panels and systems that can be supplied in mass production, as well as design designs and easy installation structures. In particular, the company's ability to inspect the products produced is superior to that of Chinese companies, eliminating problems that occur in the field in advance.

The company's experience includes the largest 56-meter OGN studio in California, USA; LEDs for the SK Academy conference at Walkerhill; media art LED display customization, ushering in the era of Henri Matisse Media Art mobile LEDs at the Seoul Museum of Art; fine-pitch LEDs for Pangyo Ice Square; aesthetically pleasing custom LED billboard "gatelook" at Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center; LED displays for advertising at KTX Yongsan Station; and LED screens for conferences at Walkerhill Hotel Vista Hall in Seoul, Korea. After ambitiously preparing and launching in 22, Impactrum will start selling high-performance, installation-proven Meta G products in 23, which are built on a mass production basis, can be shipped within a week of purchase, and offer excellent value for money.

With the capability to operate VP studios, reflecting the needs of real-world VP production, and extensive LED installation experience, Impactrum and Dexter continue to collaborate on R&D to future-proof products for the ever-evolving landscape of LED-based virtual production.
